FEB 2016 WEDDING EXPO

It’s wedding fair season! Samanthas bridal is happy to report that the 2016 wedding fair is now fully sold out. We would like to take this opportunity to well come all the exhibitors on board. With over 30 thousand weddings a year in Kenya alone, the bridal industry is big business.Wedding Fair

Exhibitions provide an exceptional promotional platform: they are a unique, multi-sensory experience. Unlike advertising, direct mail, PR or any other type of marketing, they allow your potential customers to feel, smell, taste and try. The fact that the exhibition experience appeals to all the senses makes it an intensely memorable medium, and offers you the chance to bring your product or service to life in a way that no other medium can do.

The Samanthas bridal Weddings Fair is a major event that puts thousands of brides and grooms-to-be, wedding planners, and other special occasion planners conveniently in touch with the people who provide the unique products, services, and ideas that contribute so much toward ensuring that their special event is successful and memorable.

This year, the Samanthas bridal fair celebrates its 12th year anniversary. The management team at Expo Productions remains dedicated to producing the finest show of its kind. Historically high attendance records and quality vendors have made this show a tremendous marketing opportunity.

 PROMOTION

Attendance for the Samantha’s bridal wedding fair will be promoted with an aggressive program of radio, TV and print advertising, social media, direct mailings, as well as special promotions and publicity. All advertising will target brides-to-be, grooms, their families and wedding planners.

TARGETED AUDIENCE

Samantha’s bridal fair appeals to a specific audience: brides and grooms-to-be and the whole wedding party. Over the years, thousands have found the show to be the ideal event to see, compare, learn about, and buy the variety of products and services they are looking for. In 2015, nearly 10,000 people planning weddings attended the Samantha’s bridal expo over a period of 3 days.

11 Tips keeping your mom on wedding fashion radar

As seen on Samantha Bridal fashion show during the July Wedding Expo, below are tips on how to place the mother of the bride on the wedding fashion radar.

1. Mom’s outfit should complement bridesmaids’ dresses, and not match them. You don’t want the ushers confusing the seating arrangement! mo4
2. Help her chose a color that suits well her tone, and sits pretty with the overall wedding palette

mo5
3. Just for modesty, its best to have your shoulders and arms covered, at least for the ceremony. Lace is the all-time graceful look;consider sheers and organza too, just a hint of elegance. Chose a comfortable style and cut to flatter your body.

mo

4.Avoid black and white in whatever shades. The former is too severe, whereas the latter is too bridal, lest you be accused of trying to outshine the queen!

mo2

5. Good supportive underwear will come in handy, not only for comfort but to help you fit well into your Queenly role.
6 . Match your shoes and clutch bag, remember less is more and avoid too much beading especially for the daytime celebration. Heels are preferable. They will add to you that graceful gait for the occasion.

mo6
7. Don’t leave the buying to Mom because she is always selfless, thus likely to spend on other items like food.

8. Involve her. Have her understand that she too will attract attention on that day and needs to look fabulous for you.
9 If she can afford to buy her outfit, accompany her anyway and help her choose. If you are the groom and have no idea what to select, have a younger female relative accompany her.
10. If you do not know where to start, refer to fashion publications such as Samantha bridals for listings of outlets.

mo3
11. Finally, remind mom to walk and break into her shoe, and rehearse her graceful walk on the aisle before the dawn breaks to your nuptials.

Mother-of-the-Bride Dress Protocol

Dress Shopping Guide

According to age old tradition, the mother-of-the-bride purchases her dress first, which subtly determines what the mother-of-the-groom should wear. This however is not a protocol that has to be followed. Wedding etiquette suggests that the mother-of-the-bride should politely inform the mother-of-the-groom about her dress, so as to avoid clashing and to ensure synchronization. This can be done without seeming too pushy and bossy by having the-bride-to-be, communicate it to the mother-of-the-groom.

mob 1

Colour Restrictions

Ensure that the mother-of-the-bride’s dress compliments the bridal party colours. A Subtle hue of the colour of choice is the best way to go. Stay away from white, cream or ivory. Lean more towards earthy tones such as beige, taupe, champagne and stone. For most colours, the best choice is hues in blue, purple and brown. Ultimately, you can never go wrong with the grey family of colours; whatever the colour scheme. Be sure to avoid something in the same exact colour as the bridesmaids’ dresses and extremely flashy colours as well.

mob2

Dress Type Guide

Let the bride be your guide. Follow cues from the bride about the acceptable colour scheme, dress style, texture and of course the theme of the wedding; black tie, casual or vintage. The venue of the ceremony can be a guide as well. While tradition leans more towards a little cocktail coat atop a mid-length dress, this would be an overdress for a beach location wedding but very appropriate for a church wedding. In other instances, for example when it is too hot to wear a coat, a wrap would be very much appropriate paired with a strappy dress. Whatever the theme, location or weather, the golden rules to stick by are:

  • Appropriate and
  • Elegantly subtle

Dress Shopping Timeline

It is advisable to have made a choice a month before the wedding. Since the bridesmaids and the bride will have begun the shopping process several months before, you will have a guideline to go by -by the time you begin shopping for a dress, which should be no later than three months before the wedding. Shopping well in advance will allow enough time for special orders, alterations and any changes that the dress will require.

Ambience lighting paired with floral accents give a romantic feel complimented with elegance and style. This decor comes together against the backdrop of a towering Arabic influenced arch, with detailed moldings of rich ancient culture which exudes sophistication and raw beauty.

This dreamy subtle decor was achieved through the use of calm colours- peach and white against the bold earthy green tones. The cascading floral arrangements, white feather centerpieces and the all white shimmery linens add to a classic fairytale ambience that gives a warm feel.

The use of bold independent colours in this decor gives a lively feeling of instant happiness and excitement. The placement of navy blue in the linens brings out the boldness of the yellow colour as they are both unified and toned a notch down by the elegance of white and the pureness of the high top glass candle holders.

Silver accents in platters, table linens and the use of an elegant hollowed out silver champagne holder exude royalty and class. The crystal centerpieces compliment the pure colour used in the chiavari chairs and the linens, bringing together a classic look of platinum silver and white.

Animal print plates, masala coloured table linens and log animal carvings, instantly transport you to a bush safari in a place of your choosing. The versatility of the use of deco to bring out your desired theme, feel and look normally lies in the detail, paying close attention to the smallest of items to unify all elements used. In this case, logs and an artificial fire complete the bush safari theme and give an outdoor feel of the wild.
